My younger kids still like to use 35 mm cameras to take pictures, and I knew that I had to come up with a way to get everything transferred to a computer and organized. I thought about all of the options available. Sure I could enlist some professional to help me with the job, but I don’t have the money that was going to involve. Little did I know that the Epson V700 color scanner was about to give me a wonderful solution.
It has been 3 months since I first bought an Epson Perfection v700 scanner and I decided to put my own personal product review up to let others know about my experience. I decided to buy this scanner to use to help me get photos out of albums and boxes. We had begun boxing everything up to move and I just cried when I saw how creased and faded a lot of my favorite snapshots had become.
When I started looking at scanners I was immediately impressed by the wonderful features offered on the V700 Perfection. The Epson Company is well known and the V700 certainly seemed to be perfect for what I wanted. The price was right and it could handle scanning jobs involving any kind of picture from negatives to slides. Since my parents had tons of slides of vacations taken years ago I was even more excited when I discovered that now there was a way to modernize these.
Since we are always snapping pictures in my family it seemed reasonable to find a way for me to take care of this on my own. A quick online search showed me that flatbed scanners were probably the best choice of all. As soon as we were in our new house, I had all of the boxes of pictures in one room and I began researching to find out all I could about scanning devices.
The day that my V700 scanner was delivered my sisters and brother came over to help me with it, but the Epson Perfection V700 practically installs itself. I could hardly believe how simple the entire installation was. We all got our favorite photos and slides out and began to put this little workhorse through a few test runs.
It did take us a couple of hours to figure out how to make the correct adjustments on the Epson Perfection V700 in order to get the best results. This process was not hard and it was even a lot of fun to do. We used the Photoshop software on some of the prints and were able to add even more sharpness to some of the details. This family activity using the Epson Perfection V700 has now become a weekly event that we all look forward to sharing.
I am happy to tell you I think the Perfection V700 is super fast and easy to use. In less than an hour I can process a dozen of our old slides to my desktop. The images are clear and sharp and even if I run into an occasional problem I can rescan the pictures and make the corrections needed in a matter of minutes.
My brother is much more technologically oriented than I am and he was happy to point out that I got a really good deal. There are apparently many outstanding details included in the V700 Perfection color scanner that fascinated him. The 6400 dpi resolution is a premium feature, and he was surprised to find that it is standard on the Epson Perfection V700. He told me that I really made a smart choice when I opted to purchase this affordable little wizard.
This high resolution is a feature that is largely responsible for the ability of the Epson V700 to produce top quality prints. There is also a dual lens system that is totally automatic. I never have to worry about this adjustment; I just leave it up to the Epson Perfection V700 to use whichever lens will give the best results. There is also a loader that you can place slides in if you want to do some batch scans instead of just relying on the flatbed.
