My younger kids still like to use 35 mm cameras to take pictures, and I knew that I had to come up with a way to get everything transferred to a computer and organized. I thought about all of the options available. Sure I could enlist some professional to help me with the job, but I don’t have the money that was going to involve. Little did I know that the Epson V700 color scanner was about to give me a wonderful solution.

It has been 3 months since I first bought an Epson Perfection v700 scanner and I decided to put my own personal product review up to let others know about my experience. I decided to buy this scanner to use to help me get photos out of albums and boxes. The price was right and it could handle scanning jobs involving any kind of picture from negatives to slides. Since my parents had tons of slides of vacations taken years ago I was even more excited when I discovered that now there was a way to modernize these.

Since we are always snapping pictures in my family it seemed reasonable to find a way for me to take care of this on my own. A quick online search showed me that flatbed scanners were probably the best choice of all. As soon as we were in our new house, I had all of the boxes of pictures in one room and I began researching to find out all I could about scanning devices.

The day that my V700 scanner was delivered my sisters and brother came over to help me with it, but the Epson Perfection V700 practically installs itself. I could hardly believe how simple the entire installation was. We all got our favorite photos and slides out and began to put this little workhorse through a few test runs.

It did take us a couple of hours to figure out how to make the correct adjustments on the Epson Perfection V700 in order to get the best results. This process was not hard and it was even a lot of fun to do. We used the Photoshop software on some of the prints and were able to add even more sharpness to some of the details. This family activity using the Epson Perfection V700 has now become a weekly event that we all look forward to sharing.

I am happy to tell you I think the Perfection V700 is super fast and easy to use. In less than an hour I can process a dozen of our old slides to my desktop. The images are clear and sharp and even if I run into an occasional problem I can rescan the pictures and make the corrections needed in a matter of minutes.
My brother is much more technologically oriented than I am and he was happy to point out that I got a really good deal. There are apparently many outstanding details included in the V700 Perfection color scanner that fascinated him. The 6400 dpi resolution is a premium feature, and he was surprised to find that it is standard on the Epson Perfection V700. He told me that I really made a smart choice when I opted to purchase this affordable little wizard.

This high resolution is a feature that is largely responsible for the ability of the Epson V700 to produce top quality prints. There is also a dual lens system that is totally automatic. I never have to worry about this adjustment; I just leave it up to the Epson Perfection V700 to use whichever lens will give the best results. There is also a loader that you can place slides in if you want to do some batch scans instead of just relying on the flatbed.

Perfection 4490 Photo Review

With the purchase of an Epson Perfection 4490 photo scanner I now have a useful flatbed scanning device that can be used for pages of text or archiving my favorite photos. I did not want to pay a fortune for some hardware that had hundreds of bells and whistles that I wouldn’t even use. What I concentrated on was searching for a cost efficient workhorse that would deliver consistent, quality results whenever I needed them. The Perfection 4490 photo scanner had just the right balance of performance and features I was looking for.

I discovered that when some of the target sizes I wanted did not look as good as I hoped all I had to do was change the size preference and try again.

The controls are easy to use push buttons that are located on the front of the scanner. The software took me several tries before I got the hang of using it the right way. I discovered that Target Size is one of the biggest factors in the quality of pictures. The Epson Perfection 4490 photo scanner lets you scan as many as six slides at any one time.

The imaging that resulted on my slides was absolutely amazing and I could not have been more pleased. The Epson Perfection 4490 photo scanner was actually able to remove some of the imperfections so that they looked better than ever. I think that the ability of the Perfection 4490 photo scanner to enhance older photos and slides has made this model hit the top of my list.

I have been very happy for the past few months with the outstanding reliability that the Canon Pixma MX700 office printer delivers. While I sometimes wish the speed were a little bit faster when it is printing out pages of text, I can not really complain because my Canon Pixma MX700 consistently prints pages at a standard rat of about 8-10 pages per minute. Unless you have some really heavy print needs this will probably be fast enough to suit you.

The Canon Pixma MX700 is a good choice for people like me who need the versatility of a multifunction printer but do not want to spend several hundred dollars. This was the model that I selected for my home and it has far exceeded all of my expectations. Although the price for the Canon Pixma MX700 All In One is extremely affordable it packs a punch when it comes to capabilities. The Canon Pixma MX700 printer is a machine gives me a color inkjet printer with good speed and reliability. It also is a fax machine, photo printer and a sturdy little helper.

My kids use the print functions a lot and even though I am sure that there is some less than delicate use involved, the Canon Pixma MX700 just keeps on ticking along. I am extremely happy with the easy to navigate keyboard buttons. These never stick or get hung up and they are easy to figure out. There is also an LCD screen on the Canon Pixma MX700 printer that lets you keep track of what function is going on and it can give you cues to help guide you through any of the available functions.

I took advantage of some of the additional software and I am able to handle tasks that range from OCR to printing photos. The interface and design of the Solutions Menu on the Canon Pixma MX700 made it easy for me to coordinate all of these functions right through my desktop. The guides that are included have plenty of tips and help. This information is provided in an easy to follow format that makes troubleshooting a snap.

The budget conscious features don’t end at the price either. The Canon Pixma MX700 uses a 4 ink color system that all load individually and you can program it so you only use your black cartridge. This lets you save money every time you print a page. The difference between printing a B/W page and a color page on the Canon Pixma MX700 can be almost 20 cents so I make sure to keep mine programmed away from color whenever possible.
